Elevator Maintenance is critical to the performance of elevators. Maintenance extends the life of our customer's elevators as well as insuring the proper functioning of the equipment. Long Elevator & Machine Co., Inc., has programs in place to provide our customers with the highest quality maintenance care. The following are the key elements which compose our maintenance programs.

Training

Long Elevator mechanics are highly skilled to work on all types of elevators. All mechanics and helpers are trained in compliance with the Elevator Contractor's Union. In addition to the union requirements, our employees receive continuous training by Long Elevator. This combination has created some of the most skilled mechanics in the industry.

Tracking

Our firm uses a computer program to track and accumulate data. This allows us to study an elevator's performance and verify maintenance records. The data collected allows us to analyze each elevator's history and determine if adjustments need to be made.

Maintenance Charts

Charts have been designed to assist both the field employees and office staff with the tracking of our customer accounts. These charts provide records of regular preventative maintenance, monthly fire service tests, and annual safety tests.

Computer Diagnostics

Long Elevator has full time electrical engineers and computer diagnostic equipment to help troubleshoot the most complex problems.

Replacement Parts

Each of Long Elevator's local offices stock an extensive inventory of spare parts. These inventories along with a strategically located manufacturing facility and a wide supplier base give us the ability to locate or manufacture any parts needed. Long Elevator realizes that when a replacement part is needed, time is of the essence. Therefore, at Long we not only strive to meet the needs of our customers, but anticipate them as well.

Service Calls

Unfortunately elevators, like all mechanical products, can have problems. Long elevator offers 24 hour response to all customers. All service calls are handled through your local branch office by local operators. When a call is placed, the operator records the information and immediately calls our pages the mechanic. This system allows the office to track problems and dispatch mechanics quickly and efficiently.
